Publication Design & Art Direction
The Residential Specialist
TRS is an association publication for realtors with the CRS designation.

Once a year, this publication held a contest with various themes. This issue honored the “Top Producer” in real estate. The photoshoot took place at one of the stunning homes this realtor was selling at the time..

The image above illustrates a fun solution that complements the headline. The contrasting scale tells the story and creates an eye-popping effect.

An interesting challenge with this publication is creating visuals that avoid the use of a house or a typical realtor/client shot. The solution above is a successful example that is fun and to the point.
Healthcare

Layering imagery is one of my favorite techniques. Here, I asked the illustrator to supply a layered file that could be taken apart and placed within the layout.

This piece is an oversized spread. The challenge was finding images of people and internal body parts in the same body position. Images often had to be manipulated to achieve the correct proportions and angles.

Healthcare newsletters are notorious for lengthy articles, so I had to find creative ways to bring excitement to type-heavy pages. One of the most satisfying facets of the job was art-directing patient photoshoots. Hearing their success stories helped me discover the best approach to staging each shoot and capturing their experiences.
Spanish Publications

Here is a layout from a children’s fashion shoot I art-directed for Ser Padres magazine, the Spanish-language version of Parents. The shoot took place on a boat at a pier along the Hudson River. We rented a van where the kids changed outfits—it was loads of fun!

This commissioned illustration was created for La Familia de Hoy, one of the publications produced by entrepreneur Chris Whittle.

Art-directing women’s fashion shoots was a fun aspect of my job at Ser Padres magazine, the Spanish-language version of Parents.

Photo Composites & AI Imagery
Photo Composites

I was awarded a Silver Excel for this composite cover image. A great deal of Adobe Photoshop work went into it, but it was worth it.

The title sparked a vision of a side order of food, so I went for it, combining our realtor with a giant side of fries. The use of scale makes the page pop. The entire issue won a Hermes Platinum Award.

I decided to tell this “setting boundaries” story by combining typography and iconic photography with a vector background. It’s a different take on the typical image of a person behind some kind of barrier, which I’ve used in similar stories in the past.
AI Created Images

Having exhausted my stock photo search for this story, I decided to give AI a try using Midjourney. The client was very pleased.
This cover addresses pediatric endoscopic care. Using Midjourney, I created a conceptual illustration of an intestine and added playful-looking toys to convey that the subject matter focuses on children’s issues.

Infographics & Social Media
APA

These are examples of infographic social media I created using Adobe Illustrator for the American Planning Association.
Highlights Early Learning

Each TRS issue features an infographic spread based on an existing real estate survey. This is one of many I designed and then adapted for use on the magazine’s website.

I’ve also designed multiple social media graphics, GIFs, and banners using Adobe Illustrator, as well as email layouts using Figma.
Custom Photo Direction

These are just a selection of the many photoshoots I’ve art directed. I’ve built an extensive network of photographers across multiple U.S. states.
